Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of about 97 poems by various authors on such subjects as birthdays, messages from and deaths of family members, and love. The manuscript includes a poem titled Lullaby Of a Female Convict to Her Child the Night Previous to Her Execution; Ladies' Names; Lines on Friendship; and numerous poems by Byron; as well as a piece titled Satire By Lord Rochester with the note, "The above, not verbatim, but from memory since a child. Mrs. Young Senior 1862." The volume also includes rules for card games called The Queen, Bezique, and Spril Fives; and two watercolor drawings of butterflies and one of a young girl.

Anna Letitia Barbauld, née Aikin, English poet and essayist. Her first book of poems, published before her marriage, was a critical and popular success, but she came to be better known for her works on the teaching of infants.
