Holograph diary of an English student in Germany. The author, a university student, takes particular note of professors, students, and activities of various German universities. He records a discussion concerning how to address professors' wives; makes notes on George, Lord Byron and Johann Goethe; and begins study of Italian and Spanish. He also provides details of various professors' works; attends parties and concerts; and visits a government-supported establishment for the education of village schoolmasters.
