Collection of autograph letters by various English peers, statesmen, antiquaries, and others, primarily on miscellaneous business subjects. These include letters from King George IV; Thomas Spring-Rice, 1st Baron Monteagle; Henry Herbert, Earl of Pembroke; and Charles Gordon Lennox, Duke of Richmond. The volume also contains letters written to Upcott by friends and professional acquaintances, primarily on antiquarian, collecting, and social matters. These include two letters from John Thomas Smith, keeper of prints and drawings at the British Museum, in which he asks to see Upcott's Garrick collection; and numerous letters from others which discuss plates, publications, drawings, and improvements to paintings and art objects.
