Manuscript, in a single hand, of drafts and copies of verses by Burney and others. Contents include poems titled "The Witch" and "A Miniature Picture, drawn 1788," an English translation of "La Fontaine's fable of the Mole and the Elephant," and occasional verse addressed to such acquaintances and family members as Thomas Twining, Hester Lynch Piozzi, Sir John Hawkins, Samuel Crisp, Sir Joshua Reynolds, and Burney's children. Titles include "On Sir John Hawkins giving his Collection of old Musical books to the British Museum," "To Fulk Greville Esquire upon the termination of a long contested difference," and "To my daughter Esther on the birth of her 5th child."
