[Sermons], 1673 Apr 27.

Manuscript on paper, in a single secretary hand, of two sermons on Luke 5:17. The first, delivered "on the Sabboth before the communion," addresses spiritual sickness and healing, declaring that "the power of the lord is present in his ordinances to heall peoples souls." The second sermon, delivered in the afternoon, continues the theme of healing; the author says, "I have spoken, in the morning, to Christs condescendence to be present with and among his people upon the account of there diseases and infirmities to heal them," and that only the power of God can "work the cure of sinners."
