Speculum mundi, or an epittomy and abridgement of ye histories of severall of ye most famous empires monnarchies & states in ye world, [ca. 1668].

Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of a collection of various leaders' biographies and descriptions of the states which they governed, including that of "Patriarchs before the flood," "Grecian Monarchie," "Turks," and a list of Popes and their shortcomings. The volume also contains a history of England which concludes with Charles II "who is now in the 19th yeare of his Reigne from the death of his father," as well as biographies of "Schoole Doctors" and "Chymists," "Wonderfull Providences," "Famous Eclipses," "Rare Comets" and "English prodegies."
