[Commonplace book], [1672-1694].

Manuscript on paper, in two hands, containing sermon notes, copies of letters, and religious, moral, and philosophical reflections. One hand records sermon notes by Tillotson and Cumberland; an essay titled Character of Mary 2 by William Sherlock (1641?-1707); and The Ld Chancellor Hide's Letter to the Duke of York, upon the Report of the Dutchesse of Yorks Being Turnd a Papist; followed by The Chancellor's Letter to the Dutchesse. Another hand records excerpts from Bishop Wilkins Principles of Natural Religion Concerning the Existence of a Deity as well as other moral and philosophical reflections on death, wisdom, riches, happiness, and anger.
