The arraignment of Mervin Lord Audley Earle of Castlehaven at Westmr. Hall the 25th of Aprill 1631 for causing his wife to bee ravished and comitting of sodomie..., [ca. 1631].

Manuscript, in a single secretary hand, summarizing the trial and execution of Mervyn Touchet, Lord Audley, earl of Castlehaven, for sexual crimes. The manuscript records the names of the peers present at the trial; the examination of the accused persons, including Lord Audley, his wife Countess Audley, Giles Broadway, Henry Skipwith, and Laurence Fitzpatrick; and the pronunciation of Lord Audley's death sentence. On the last page of the manuscript appear two verses titled "Certaine verses upon Mervin Lo. Audley Earle of Castlehaven," beginning "I need not Trophies to adorne my hearse."
