Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of a collection of Daniel's poems. The volume opens with "Vervicensis." The rest of the poems, about 88 in number, are gathered under the heading "Scattered Fancies," and include such titles as "Upon a Late Printed Booke," "To the Platonicke Pretender," "To the Memorye of the best Dramaticke English Poet Ben. Johnson," and "To the Memorye of the truly noble and my worthy freind Sr. William Alforde...obyt 1642."

Charles Pilkington served both Edward IV and Richard III in Yorkshire and Nottingham, and received extensive grants from Richard III, including the constableship of Nottingham and the stewardship of Sherwood Forest. He does not appear in royal records after 1485, presumably because as a Yorkist he fell from favor on Henry VII's accession.
