Against impositions in Parliament, [1610-1611].

Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of an argument against the king's prerogative to "lay a new charge or Imposicion upon merchandizes to bee brought in or out of this kingdome of England, & enforce merchants to pay the same." Preceded by a copy of the address of the House of Commons to the King, 1604, in the same hand, concerning grievances over the "bill of Asserts" and the burden of taxation for wardships.

James VI was born in Edinburgh Castle in 1566, the only son of Mary, Queen of Scots, and her second husband, Lord Darnley.
