Manuscript, in a single secretary hand, of a collection of several dozen Scottish Presybterian tracts in English and verses in Latin. The collection includes David Hume's De unione tractatus secundus, 1605; William Bradshaw's Treatise of the nature and use of things indifferent, 1605; John Knox's Sermons, 1563; the Recantation of Master Patrick Adamson, 1598; and other short pieces against the authority of bishops addressed to the king. The manuscript also includes Latin poety on similar religious and political subjects, by such authors as George Buchanan and Joseph Juste Scaliger.
