Materials include a typescript of reminiscences detailing the history of the mission, copies of the mission annals for 1946-47 and 1970-71, an audiotape of Sister Irma Walker (recorded July 17, 1997), and a copy of a letter by Georgia O'Keeffe addressed to Mother Francis de Sales (dated March 3, 1971) describing the history of Abiquiu and the mission school, urging her to keep the school open.

A delegation of the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs was sent to Abiquiu, New Mexico, in 1946 to work in the mission at St. Thomas the Apostle Convent. The convent was across the road from the house of Georgia O'Keeffe, who befriended many of the nuns who lived at the mission between 1946-1971.
