Abbott, 1854, concerns plans for their son James B. Abbott to travel to California. Brock also briefly discusses business and mining prospects and other aspects of life in San Francisco. In a letter to his mother Rebekah Brock, 1855, Brock discusses family news, refers to his wife and children in the East, and gives news of James B. Abbott in California.
