Tunis Dean, theatrical manager and fashionable civic leader in Baltimore, Maryland, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana ca. 1865. Affiliated for years with the David Belasco organization, Dean acted as Belasco's personal representative and press agent, and served as tour manager for a number of prominent actors including Blanche Bates, Mrs. Leslie Carter, David Warfield, Frances Starr and James O'Neill.
