Company account book, 1862-1864.

Account book containing the manuscript roster of a company of Cherokee soldiers who fought for the Union during the Civil War, and clothing and other personal equipment accounts for individual company members in an unidentified hand. The accounts include date of issue, name of article, and value, with signatures of the recipients and the witness James Vann. A list of five military actions with Confederate troops in Indian Territory, and the dates that they occurred is on page two. Miscellaneous accounting notes appear on endpapers. Accompanied by a one-page typed company roster listing officers including Captain James Vann, Lieutenant Benjamin Whitaker, and Lieutenant Ternie Walkingstick.
