Lewertoff papers, 1925-1965.

Collection relates to Else Thalheimer Lewertoff's activities on behalf of the Cologne branch of the International Society for Contemporary Music and the Palestine Symphony Orchestra. Papers include articles by Else and by Shlomo B. Lewertoff; letters to Else from Gertrud Hindemith and from Paul Hindemith; programs for the International Society for Contemporary Music; photocopies of articles and programs for the Palestine Symphony Orchestra (Tizmoret ha-Erets-Yiśreʼelit); an autograph manuscript of music by Felix Petyrek that has an autograph addendum by Paul Hindemith; a typescript manuscript by Paul Hindemith; and photographs and negatives of the Hindemiths, the Lewertoffs, Arnold Schoenberg, Arturo Toscanini, and Igor Stravinsky, among others. There is also a copy of "Von Neuer Musik" (Koln: F. J. Marcan-Verlag, 1925).
