Autograph manuscript letters, including ALS, coded letters, and transcriptions, written by Giovanni Emo to Carlo Ruzzini, Venetian ambassador to the United Provinces of the Netherlands, during negotiations ending the War of Spanish Succession. The letters report on the French negotiating position in the Peace of Utrecht, particularly regarding Austrian expansion in northern Italy and the status of Venetian merchant ships arrested by French warships.
