Copy of a petition for Texas land by Fernando del Valle, 1869 April 9.

Copy of a petition by Fernando del Vallefor eleven sitios of land, originally submitted in Mexico City on March 10, 1830. Del Valle notes that he would prefer land along the Brazos River, and states that he wishes to take up some of the unoccupied frontier. A note signed by the Governor of Coahuila and the Secretary of State indicates that del Valle received the land and was awaiting the title. This copy of del Valle's petition was made at the request of Clarence Key, an American citizen, by Juan Lobo, second alderman of the Ayuntamiento of Coahuila. Dated April 13, 1869, the copy is also signed by Victoriano Cepeda, Governor of Coahuila, and certified by J. Ulrich, the American Consul in Monterey.
