Included are a copy of the Conde de Arandes' 1783 dictamen on the independence of the United States; a memorandum by Father Francisco Frejes on Texas and its missions, dated 1821 November 16; a list of crimes under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Mexico, drawn up by Cristoval de Menoza; and a treatise by José Rivera Salasar on a sonnet by St. Francis Xavier. Other documents in the volume include sermons, notes and addresses on education, history, literary subjects, and the arts.
