Drafts of letters and documents concerning conditions in Louisiana (addressed to Miguel Cayetano Solér). The first, a letter dated 1799 Apr 14, requests more information and maps of the territorial boundaries of Louisiana. A second and longer draft to Soler, dated 1799 May 15, refers to a report by Luis Vilemont on the political climate of Louisiana, discusses the need for increasing the population and the difficulties presented by Indian hostilities, and touches on the negotiations taking place with the Americans.
