Correspondence between Azcárate y Lezana and Secretary of State Alamán concerning the immigration of Americans to Texas. Azcaráte informs Alamán of the increasing number of Americans settling in Texas and suggests the governor of the province prepare a report on the number of Americans, where they live, and with which Indians they have formed alliances. He also suggests that Americans not be given land on the coast. Alamán's reply thanks Azcárate for his patriotic zeal.
