Fermín Francisco de Lasuén report and letter, 1783, 1792.

Consists of one report of the San Diego Mission, dated 1783 May 10, with an addendum of 1783 June 26, and one letter to José Joaquín Arrillaga, dated 1792 June 25. Signed by Lasuén and Fr. Juan Figuer, the report, titled Informe de la Mision de San Diego, documents the history of the San Diego Mission since its foundation in 1769, including the Indian revolt of 1775 November 5, during which Fr. Luís Jayme was killed and the mission destroyed. The report also includes information about the mission's administrative and agricultural progress. Signed by Lasuén at the San Carlos Mission in Monterey, the letter, dated 1792 June 25, is addressed to interim governor José Joaquín Arrillaga.

Fermín Francisco de Lasuén was a Franciscan friar and missionary. Between 1767 and 1785, he administered a number of missions in Baja and Alta California, including the San Francisco de Borja, San Gabriel, San Juan Capistrano, and San Diego missions. In 1785, he succeeded Junípero Serra as Father-President of the Alta California missions, an office he held for 18 years.
