Letters, 1772-1775.

A 1772 letter notifies Raphael Verger, Father Superior of San Fernando college, that the Viceroy has ordered Gov. Barri of California to transfer cattle from the old missions to the new ones being established at San Diego, Monterey, and San Francisco (WA MSS S-669;N4221). Letters dated 1775 inform Francisco Pangua, guardian of San Fernando college, that supples and soldiers are being sent as requested (WA MSS S-671;N4221), and two new chaplains, Ramon de Usson and Vicente de Santa Mará, are en route to the San Diego and Monterey missions (WA MSS S-670;N4221).
