Letter, 1859 Jul 11.

The letter to the Election Board at Tumwater instructs the Board that it may accept votes from residents of 20 days provided they have been residents of the Territory for six months. Copy in Elwood Evans hand, signed by a member of the Election Board.

Elwood Evans was born about 1828. By the early 1850's he was living in Olympia, WA. He was one of the first attorneys to practice in Olympia. As one of the early pioneers of Thurston County, WA, he was very active in political life holding many local offices. He was elected to the first Legislative Assembly in Washington Territory.
