Letters and prints, 1848-1849.

Two letters to Theodore Garretson describe the sea voyage around South America, family affairs, and his plans to go to California. The letter to M. B. Donaldson describes life in California and at the mines, and encloses two lithographs: "The First Trail [sic] & execution in S. Francisco"and "A View of the [Elephant]."
