ArchivalResource

Genealogical data concerning the Davis family, 1866, 1919-1943.

The collection contains data collected by Minor at the request of John Staige Davis for the application of his daughter Kathleen to the Colonial Dames. In addition to Minor's research notes, there are a few letters between her and Davis, a gnealogical chart and application forms. A letter from Arthur Lee Brent mentions the death of John Hartwell Cocke. Also of interest is her description of her efforts on behalf of a young black girl imprisoned for arson in 1887.
