Lawyer and nephew of Jesse B. Thomas, born in Missouri in 1817, practiced law in Springfield and Virginia, Ill. Elected to the Illinois legislature in 1848. In 1854 he opened a real estate agency in Chicago, Ill. with Dr. Boone, but after a year he returned to Cass County where he practiced law and was elected president of the Illinois River Railroad.
