The Ellsworth County history collection is an assembled collection from various sources documenting the early history and business history of Ellsworth County, Kansas. The bulk of the collection are hotel registers from the hotel known variously as Grand Central, Putnam, Ballou, Jennings, Larkin, and White House. Other records include an 1867 statement signed by Governor Samuel Johnson Crawford establishing Ellsworth County, several early district court records, records of Buckeye Cemetery, herd law petitions from 1875, a minute book with articles off association and other documents from the Geneseo Town Company, and other documents.
