Calvin Strowig papers, 1963-1976.

The Calvin Strowig papers consist of correspondence, memoranda, notes, clippings, and other materials documenting his tenure as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives between 1963-1972. The papers are organized by date or topic, and concern Strowig's public appearances, constituency correspondence, and positions on various legislative issues. Calvin Arthur Strowig was a Republican representative in the Kansas House of Representatives from Abilene, Kansas. He was born on December 31, 1923 near Paxico, Kansas, and spent his career as a theater owner and manager. He represented district 54 in the House between 1963-1964, district 52 between 1965-1966, and district 94 between 1967-1972. He married Betty Isley August 1, 1948. Strowig died on November 10, 1994.
