Mark Webster letter to William C. Faulkner [manuscript] 1924 September 2.

Webster, as "U.S. Post Office inspector, Corinth, Miss.," writes to Faulkner, a postmaster at University, Miss., charging him with neglect of duties and notifying him of his imminent dismissal. The charges include being "a habitual reader of books and magazine," and writing his own book while at work, failure to forward mail, careless handling of mail, irregular hours, indifference to patrons and card playing in the office.
