Hat, Top [realia]. 1898-1920

Man's beaver top hat is black with a black velvet hatband. Grosgrain ribbon trims the brim. Inside there is a brown leather hatband and ivory silk lining. Stamped in gold on the leather is "MADE EXPRESSLY FOR / HON. WARREN G. HARDING." On the silk lining in black is "JOHN B. STETSON CO. / 1224 CHESTNUT STREET" and the company logo with winged horses and a shield. There is also a white silk bow holding the leather hatband together.
