The ledger book contains an index of over two hundred names, with more than two hundred seventy pages of detailed accounts of customers' purchases. The purchases listed are both medicinal items (including prescriptions) and household items. Searches for some of the customers' names in the 1880 census reveal many of them living in Washington Township, Conway County. The only merchant listed in the township is M.J.
