Harriet Baldwin Creighton (1909-2004), the Ruby F.H. Farwell Professor of Botany, graduated from Wellesley in 1929 and received her Ph.D. from Cornell in 1933. She taught at Cornell and at Connecticut College, returned to Wellesley as associate professor in 1940. Her term at Wellesley was broken in 1943-1946 by service in the Waves. Becoming a full professor at Wellesley in 1952, she was a Fulbright Lecturer in Genetics and Plant Physiology at the University of Western Australia and the Universi...
