Petition to the Senate [manuscript] [1842].

The Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery opposed the annexation of Texas into the union because it was a slave-holding Republic, setting forth its reasons, including the creation of a new market for slaves and promoting the trafficking of slaves.
