James Madison Harvey correspondence, speeches, and papers, 1834-1922.

Although this collection is not James Madison Harvey's official governor's records, it does contain some documents from his tenure as Governor. However, the bulk of this collection falls before and after his term. It also contains Harvey family papers, and therefore extends after his death date. The majority of the collection consists of correspondence, speeches, land office papers and surveys, yearly messages to the Legislature, muster rolls of the 4th & 10th Kansas Infantry regiments, and recollections by several family members.
