Ernest Bishop postcards, 1910-1915 and undated.

Collection comprises 55 printing out paper postcards, some in color, with photographs that Bishop took to illustrate his surroundings. Both his images and written messages focus on the layout and operations of the mining camp, but also feature native leaders, gatherings, and activities. Bishop directed the cards to his fiancee, Connie C. Harvey, who later became his wife. There is a gap between 1912 and 1914 when Bishop was likely in England for his marriage and honeymoon. There are several photographs that have Bishop as a subject (5 Jan 1911 and undated postcards) and one card likely features his wife and child (21 May 1915). Acquired as part of the Archive of Documentary Arts.
