Rough sketch of observations, 1796 : [manuscript], 1796-1799 / W. Walker, 42 Conduit [...], London.

Manuscript codex contains mathematical and textual descriptions of Walker's celestial observations for the period Jan. 10, 1796 through May [12?], 1799. Interspersed throughout the calculations, coordinates and text are drawings of "curious" marks and spots on the surface of the Moon and Jupiter, two pages of sketches describing the appearance of a comet in August, 1797, and sketches of a telescope. The final four leaves contain tables listing readings from the "chronometer clocks" in London and at Troston Hall, 1796-1799. John Harrison (1693-1776) and the problems of moisture and humidity in timepieces are also mentioned in the text.
