Author writes to astronomer Johannes Hevelius in Gdansk, Poland thanking him for the copy of his celestial history which Viviani received from Cardinal de Medici. Viviani praises the work and, in turn, sends his "Observations on the Lunary Eclipse" (not included) with the promise of forwarding future works on conics.
