Papers, 1937-[1967] (bulk 1937-1938).

Papers pertaining to the Spanish Civil War, including correspondence, personal miscellany and photographs, together with contemporary Loyalist publications and two related later works. Among the items of personal miscellany are notes, press clippings, military documents (chiefly identification papers), two pins (an S.R.I. pin and a 1939 Friends of the Lincoln Brigade pin) and sample paper currency. The notes contain details of fighting, revolutionary song lyrics and other comments. The five photographs consist of images of Kenner, his military unit, a fellow soldier and an ambulance donated to the Loyalists by residents of Stelton and nearby communities. Among the publications are: "Spain in arms" (1937), by Anna Louise Strong; "Men in the ranks: the story of 12 Americans in Spain," a pamphlet with a foreward written by Ernest Hemingway; "Cancionario revolucionaria internacional" (1937), a song book; and "Galicia mártir" (February 1937) and "Atila en Galicia" (July 1937) consisting of published drawings by Castelao which portray scenes from the war.
