Sonny Clements discusses his career as a high school, college, and professional athlete. He describes the changes in playing style, rules, and teamwork among black and white athletes over his career in sports. He also discusses how he developed several athletic programs at Columbus College (now Columbus State University) from scratch, starting out with no facilities, very little equipment, and no money. Clements also describes his coaching and recruiting philosophies and shares some memorable moments from his coaching career.

Sonny Clements played basketball and baseball during his high school years at Rhine High School in Rhine, Ga. and college years at Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University) and later played minor league baseball. After his baseball career was cut short by injury, he entered into a teaching career.
