Chandler Reserve Clause Suits : papers 1948-1954.

This is a collection of correspondence, court documents and newspaper clippings relating to lawsuits against organized baseball relating to the reserve clause. Four of the five lawsuits in this collection are against Chandler, commissioner of baseball, the presidents of the American and National Leagues, and the president of the National Association of Baseball Leagues. These were filed by Gardella, Martin and Lanier, Corbett and the El Paso Baseball Club and Kowalski. One lawsuit was filed against the New York Yankees by Toolson.
