128 interview cassette tapes of Stegner and his associates, transcripts of the interviews, 100 back-up tapes; annotated copies of correspondence including that with Phil and Peg Gray; copies of Stegner periodical fiction, essays, and articles, including all of the very early material; copies of reviews of Stegner's major works and story collections; clippings; and Benson's card files of sorted research notes. The first addendum, box 25, includes two cassette tape sets: 1. American Audio Prose Library's "Interview with Wallace Stegner, " 1987, and Wallace Stegner reading "The Spectator Bird" and "Crossing to Safety, " (excerpts), 1987, and 2. Wallace Stegner reads "Beyond the Glass Mountain, " and other works from collected stories, 1990. The second addendum, 2005-145 (box 26), includes a lecture on western literature (typescript) by Stegner, nd; a Stegner letter explaining his refusal of the NEA medal, 1992; Benson's correspondence with Stegner and others, 1989-1996; miscellaneous clippings and reviews relevant to Stegner, and a collection of published articles by Stegner, 1935-1992 and nd.
