The material in this collection relates to two families from Kentucky, the Kepharts and the Kidwells. Emily Kephart was one of eleven children of Samuel Kephart and Phebe Blackwell of Henry County, Kentucky. Emily married Nathaniel Wilken Kidwell and in 1844 they had one son, Jasper.
