Colonel Worthington's orders to Connecticut militia, 1780 July 3.

Orders, based on a resolve passed by the Governor and Council of Safety, instructing commanders that 1,000 of the last draft of the militia that were to serve for three months are now to serve in the Continental Line of the Continental Army until December. Each company was given specific ranks and numbers of men to provide. On the verso of the handwritten order is a printed broadside: At a Meeting of the Governor and Council of Safety, holden at Hartford, 30th June, A.D. 1780. Jedidiah Strong was the clerk of the council who attested to the resolve.
