George Washington University Dance Program records, 1939-1996.

The George Washington University Dance Program Records consist of four boxes of material dating from 1939 to 1996. The bulk of the collection is a series of black and white photographs mounted on pressboard of George Washington University dance productions from 1939 to the late 1950s. Also included in the collection are 8" x 10" black and white photographs of dancers and productions dating from the early 1970s to the mid-1990s. The Administrative Records are sparse and only include a few press releases, memoranda, flyers, and a program.The George Washington Dance Program Records are part of the Dance Archives of the Greater Washington Region. The Archives was established in 1993 by Nancy Diers Johnson, Ed.D., Associate Professor of Dance, and the Gelman Library of The George Washington University. The Dance Archives of the Greater Washington Region collects, preserves and makes accessible the documentary heritage of all forms and types of dance.
