Goodman Theatre is a professional theater company located in Chicago's Loop. A major part of the Chicago theatre scene, it is the city's oldest currently active nonprofit theater organization. Part of its present theater complex occupies the landmark Harris and Selwyn Theaters property. Alicia Finkel, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, received her M.F.A in 1957 from the National School of Fine Arts of the University of Buenos Aires. After moving to the United States in 1965, she worked for the Pittsburgh Playhouse, St. Louis Municipal Theatre, St. Paul Civic Opera, Berkshire Regional Theatre, Arlington Park Theatre, Equity Library Theatre, and Off-Broadway.
