Papers of the related Cogswell and Russell families. Included is a volume containing geometry exercises and diagrams, written by John Russell (1773?-1795) in 1794, as well as later drawings, architectural plans, and notes of Russell's grand-nephew Edward R. Cogswell, ca. 1850-1869. The collection also contains two volumes of merchant and Revolutionary War veteran Northend Cogswell, including a volume of arithmetic exercises, 1772-1784, and an account book, 1786-1835, as well as a small volume of accounts of John Russell of North Yarmouth, Mass., 1787-1797.
