Alexander Orr Vietor Maritime Collection 1750-1849, 1935-1964, n.d..

Collection includes 20th century correspondence written to and from Vietor pertaining to maritime research questions posed to him while at the Yale University Library; photographic prints of swivel guns; maritime manuscripts, which include listings of ships registered (1800-1802) in Providence, RI, list of officers in the District of Salem and Beverly Collectors Office, Port of Salem, MA (1865), poetry on maritime subjects, bill of sale and receipts, a cargo manifest for the Ship Mount Vernon entering the Port of Salem, MA, and sheet music entitled, "Friendship Put to the Test or Saving of a Sinking Friend;" and five volumes, which include a memo book of William Sever, a journal of Alexander Vietor, a journal kept by Samuel Reid, a New York City Harbor Master, a signal flag book kept by Anna Louise Nicholl in 1795, and a volume entitled "Code of Signals of the Merchant Service, kept by Captain Frederick Marryat of the Royal Navy in 1818.
