Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1784-1799.

Cherry tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with three turned, carved and fluted ball-and-flame finials on plinths, a carved keystone, free-standing fluted columns at the four corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, and a blocked case door with a carved shell at the top. Base with ogee and ovolo molding at the top, a base panel, ogee molding at the bottom and supported on ogee bracket feet. Engraved brass dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls and vines ornament in the spandrels, and the inscription "Seril Dodge" enclosed by an engraved cartouche in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial, a calendar aperture, and engraved foliate ornament. Eight day movement.
