Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1716.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded cornice and a molded top with turned three-quarter columns at the front corners, turned engaged columns at the rear corners, rectangular sidelights, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove molding at the top and a rectangular case door with an ovolo molded edge and a glazed circular peephole. Upper (old) section of base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, set on (new) base with ogee molding at the bottom. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture and an applied name plaque engraved "Peter Stretch Philadelphia." There are engraved fleur-de-lis between the hour gradations. Eight day movement.
